ABOUT US

My name is Adam, and let me tell you...I love travel golf!

The opportunity of playing new and different courses in Australia and around the world is satisfying in ways that few things are. From my experience, there is one grave concern that anybody who travels to play golf shares and that is the wellbeing of their clubs in transit.

Damage to or loss of any golfing equipment can be expensive not to mention downright frustrating and baggage handlers always seem to be having a “bad day” when it comes to handling those items we cherish most, like our golf clubs.

For many years I have travelled using hard-shell suitcases to carry my clothes and personal belongings.

These cases are usually made from hard-wearing polyproylene plastics which offer good protection from

external impacts and are generally better at keeping out water and dust.I thought to myself, well, I have

spent a lot of money on my clubs, don’t they deserve the same sort of protection?

So, instead of buying a ‘soft-cover’ for my clubs, although very affordable, I did my research to find out

where I could buy the best-quality hard-shell case in Australia. In the meantime however, I borrowed my

brother’s hard-shell case – he’s also a keen golfer. His case was an old SKB ATA Staff Golf Travel Case.

After an exhaustive search, visiting golf outlets and surfing the internet – both local sites and abroad

to buy myself a case, it became clear that the best value and best quality case was in fact, the one I had

borrowed from my brother, but I couldn’t buy a new SKB case anywhere in Australia. They simply weren’t

available.

I was satisfied that I had found the right product but the only way I could purchase one was over the internet in USD, only to then pay prohibitive shipping costs to get it here. Once it arrived, I would then have no local after-sales service in the unlikely event that there should be any repairs needed or warranty issues with the case.

I didn’t really know what to do, so I continued to borrow my brother’s case for several months, taking it to

central Queensland for a golfing trip, and further afield to Las Vegas for a trip with some friends, where the case performed perfectly on a trip from Sydney to Las Vegas via Japan, Los Angeles and back again.

This was what I needed, it held all of my equipment, including my shoes and could be locked up and easily wheeled anywhere I needed to go. It had an easy-to-pull handle and was not overly bulky. It could also be unlocked and inspected by authorities in the airport, thus meeting all security requirements.

Then I had an idea. I was so impressed with the cases that I decided to bring them to Australia myself.

With SKB’s full support I am proud through Hardcases Australia to offer this outstanding product here in Australia for the very first time. After each trip I see more scratches and grazes on my SKB case and I am thankful that the clubs were not in a flimsy soft-case. Do a quick calculation...if the case protects your clubs just once – has it not paid for itself?

I can assure you...mine has!

If you want the best, then in my experience, you’ve found it!
